What’s Happening at BGI in February

February 6th, 2013

February is in full swing as we celebrate our monthly theme of Food & Agriculture. BGI has you covered with exciting events to keep you informed, entertained and involved with the community. Below is a brief summary of what’s happening at BGI in February.

FEBRUARY 12TH | SYSTEMS THINKING WORKSHOP | BGI PIONEER SQUARE

Learn about and work with what Peter Senge calls “Nature’s Templates”.

This workshop is about recurring system structures that can hold us prisoner if we are unaware of their existence. Participants will learn to recognize archetypes in their own lives so that they can think about ways to work with them more consciously and look for effective ways to shift dynamics.

FEBRUARY 13TH | NET IMPACT BGI: FOOD AND AGRICULTURE | BGI PIONEER SQUARE

Net Impact BGI hosts another community social, this time focusing on Sustainable Food and Agriculture on Wednesday, February 13th. Our distinguished guest for the evening will be Fred Kirschenmann, renowned professor and farmer, who has been at the forefront of sustainable agriculture nationally and internationally, pioneering the concept of Agriculture of the Middle (AOTM).

FEBRUARY 14TH | RISE UP SEATTLE | HUB SEATTLE

Women’s Network for a Sustainable Future (WNSF), Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST), and Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI) Present: RISE UP SEATTLE, Chocolate & Champagne. WNSF, BEST & BGI will join with activists around the world for ONE BILLION RISING, the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.

FEBRUARY 16TH | AN EVENING WITH HUGH O’DOHERTY | SEATTLE UNIVERSITY

Join us to hear from Hugh O’Doherty. Hugh is a visiting faculty member in the OSR Master’s Program and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the arena of leadership development and international conflict resolution. If you are thinking about applying to the OSR Master’s Program, consider attending a half day portion of an OSR classroom session. This is a unique opportunity to both witness and participate in the adult centered learning and transformational environment created in the OSR Graduate Program.
