Stockbox Grocers walked away with the $10,000 WRF Capitol second place prize in the competitive University of Washington Business Plan Competition held in Seattle on May 26, 2011. Additionally, Stockbox Grocers was also awarded $2,500 DLA Piper Best Service/Retail award. The best idea prizes recognize exceptional work within different categories.

I am very proud of their success and of the accomplishments of all of our students” said Pinchot. The Stockbox Grocers team competed with 104 teams from 11 universities, pared down to 37 different teams, then 16, then 5 finalists of which Stockbox finished 2nd!
Stockbox Grocers is a mini grocer placed inside a reclaimed shipping container to provide fresh produce and basic staples in urban deserts. The Stockbox Grocers team consisted of BGI MBA students Michael Brooks, Carrie Ferrence, Jacqueline Gjurgevich, and Eliza Michiels.
