Fledge, the “conscious company incubator” introduced their second cohort of eight startups to Seattle’s business community on Thursday, May 2nd at the Fledge Demo Night. These companies meet a diverse range of consumer needs with everything from Uberlocal that connects local food growers with local consumer within a ten mile radius, to Tansa Clean that converts human waste found in rivers in India to power.
Wednesday, May 1st also marked the kick off of 2013’s Social Innovation Fast Pitch 7-month long competition. Applications are now being accepted and will close on July 1st. Prizes total over $200,000 and applicants accepted into the competition have the chance at $60,000 in Google Apps and Cloud services, as well as $20,000 in membership credit at the HUB Seattle an entrepreneurial co-working space in Pioneer Square.
