Rashmir Balasubramaniam is the Founder of Nsansa, a company that advises and coaches entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs engaged in large scale social transformation. Rashmir previously led a cross-sector initiative on private sector engagement & market based solutions to poverty at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and built and managed a diverse portfolio of grants for the foundation’s Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Program. She has led and managed a variety of global health & development projects and worked with a broad array of development organizations including the Acumen Fund, CARE, International Planned Parenthood Federation, PATH, TechnoServe, the World Bank. And prior to that she spent six years working in finance and investment banking in London.
Rashmir teaches an elective class on Harnessing Business and Markets to Address Poverty. The class enables future leaders to understand the critical roles that companies and markets play in eliminating poverty and creating social value. She also teaches Social Justice & Business.
