Norm taught for seven years at Tufts University after receiving his PhD. He then took a position at the Digital Equipment Corporation where he rotated through several functions. He started his 14 year career at Digital by developing its management education program for marketing executives. He moved into a senior marketing position before taking a staff job in manufacturing where he helped to develop a program to shorten product lead times and reduce inventories in response to similar developments in Japanese firms. He moved into product marketing in the engineering department where he worked on product introductions, pricing and competitive analysis. Following the sale of Digital to Compaq, he returned to teaching at Endicott College as the James G. Zafris Professor of Business. He taught economics and leadership dynamics for 14 years at Endicott. This is his third year teaching at BGI.
