April has conducted research on visual and non-visual imagery effects on consumer learning and was a member of the University of Washington’s Marketing faculty for 27 years. She currently holds a position on the Marketing faculty at Seattle University.

April has been a consultant for the Puget Sound Blood Center, Northwest Kidney  Foundation, the East Shore Unitarian Church, and King County. She is on the Board of Directors of Water for Humans, a non-profit that provides clean water technology to communities in Mexico.
