Real-World Connections

Industry Concentrations are a core BGI initiative aimed at deepening student learning by solving real-world challenges, building industry-relevant student and alumni services and collaborating with pioneering companies to lead the transformation toward sustainability.

BGI offers Industry Concentrations in three areas:
•    Sustainable Food and Agriculture Systems
•    Green Building
•    Sustainable Energy Solutions

It is possible to earn more than one Industry Concentration during your MBA program.

Industry Concentrations provide BGI students the opportunity to focus their studies on specific industries. Students work closely with BGI faculty and a designated Industry Advisory Council to analyze challenges and implement on-the-ground solutions. Industry Concentrations bring students together for industry-specific discussions, mentoring from industry leaders and access to industry internships and placements.

INDUSTRY ADVISORY COUNCILS

Each of the three Industry Concentrations has an Industry Advisory Council comprised of corporate executives, thought leaders, industry association leaders and entrepreneurs that collaborates with faculty and alumni representatives.

The role of the Industry Advisory Council is to:
•    advise BGI on the strategy and planning of industry concentrations;
•    counsel BGI on design of concentration offerings; and
•    identify high-leverage opportunities for advancing sustainability in a specific industry.

Many Industry Advisory Council members also support BGI programs and students by sponsoring Action Learning Projects, giving presentations and lectures, visiting campus, mentoring students and sponsoring research and business initiatives.
